Welcome to the Pacific
Northwest region web page. HOPE AACR was formed
right here in the Pacific Northwest in 2001. The
idea for HOPE was created following the school shooting
at Thurston High School in 1998.
Our teams cover Oregon,
Washington, and the western half of Idaho. We have
assisted at many kinds of crisis response call-outs,
including school shootings, suicides, accidental deaths, and wildfires.
If you live in our region and are experienced
volunteering in animal-assisted activities and
animal-assisted therapy,
please contact us to learn how you can join HOPE AACR.
Individuals without dogs can join as team
leaders.
