Lamar and I deployed on both 12/4 and 12/5 for 3 hours each day for the same trial witnesses. This was a horrific case of homicide and attempted homicide and the witnesses were the young adult children (and their mother) of the accused man alleged to have abused and killed his current wife and attempted to kill her friend. The children had apparently been abused by their father earlier but lived separately from him in another state. They were grateful to have Lamar to comfort them, as were the staff who were under great stress as well. I walked Lamar around to staff when the witnesses were in the courtroom.
