Livingston Health Care Staff Support
Start Date: 05/12/2022Description:
HOPE AACR was asked to join in support of the medical and administrative staff of the Livingston Health Care Hospital and Facility in recognition of their exceptional commitment to the care of their patients and family members over the last 2+ years! The request was held over the lunch hour so that staff would be able to share a special luncheon with colleagues as well as have time to visit with a HOPE Canine.
Due to LHC's Health protocols HOPE was asked to provide emotional support and encouragement outside, as this facility does NOT allow for animal visits within the facility! Although the weather was cool, windy, and rainy...many chose to come outside and visit with one or both of the canines...Layla (with Katherine Howe/first shift) and Lamar (with Gail Richardson/second shift). There was obvious excitement on those coming over to visit and beautiful smiles and comments of appreciation for having the dogs there! We were told numerous times just how much they were looking forward to today's visit.
The requesting department provided us with an overhead canopy to shelter against the rain, a water proof tarp in which to stand on and chairs in which to sit, as needed. We were dressed for the conditions, thus we stayed warm. It was incredible to have so many staff members brave the cold and wet ...even if they themselves were not dressed for the outside conditions!!
