San Bernardino County Department of Child & Family Services

Start Date: 08/20/2020

Description:

This was an employee de stress event for a very busy, overworked County department. Many of the employees are working thru breaks and lunches with the case loads that they have been dealt. Clearly, they were dog lovers as they eagerly stood in line outside the door and were very excited for their time with the pups. We were stationed in a conference room with tables/chairs in a U shape when we walked in. We were allowed to configure for the optimal positioning re: Covid compliant as well as allowing plenty of room for our blankets and space for the employees if they chose to get on the floor and relax with the pups. Both pups enjoyed the floor and the employees seemed to have no problem enjoying their time in that position as well. The dogs were extremely well received and there were many hopes of future visits mentioned to us throughout the morning. Additionally, there was conversation that they felt better, more relaxed and enjoyed their time away from their cases. We further noticed that we had many repeat employees come back, take photos of the pups for them and their grandchildren. Overall, the event went seamlessly from beginning to end and nothing but positive mental/physical health was accomplished.
