Student Death - Proviso (IL)

Description:

Students grieving another student death by suicide - the 3rd such death in this school year. HOPE dogs were available for students and Staff in a conference room and also during the passing periods. Many students returned several times for comfort. Our first interaction was in a tiny staff room with 2 visibly shaken students. Julie put a blanket on the lap of one crying student so little Deke could sit with her. Very moving as the student visibly became more calm.
