United States Secret Services -- Naval Observatory & Office of Foreign Missions

Start Date: 2021-12-16

Description: Shellie and I have done a health and wellness day event for this agency (Shellie's daughter works there), every year, at their headquarters, through our therapy dog organization. With this opportunity, we worked to build a strong relationship with this organization, who protects the President, Vice-President, foreign dignitaries, and others. This day was spent visiting the Naval Observatory, which is the Vice-President's residents, and the Office of Foreign Missions, who primarily protect embassies and their dignitaries. After the first of the year, we will return and visit their headquarters in downtown D.C., and the White House. Today, the V.P. was away at a meeting, and as we walked towards the Second Gentleman, he was driving away in the opposite direction. It was a beautiful, warm (for mid-December) day, and we walked the grounds, visiting the various guarded posts, at the Naval Observatory. We then drove to the Office of Foreign Missions, and attended their afternoon roll call. After being shown their twenty-five side-car motorcycles, they told us that the crowd that we had drawn, was far more than they had expected. Perhaps it was the draw of the cuteness of the two ShihTzu, along with the gentle giant.
