Hospital Disaster Drill - Indianapolis (IN)

Start Date: 10/31/2017

CHN and CHVH had a disaster drill and they needed volunteers at both hospitals to act as patients for a Code Evacuate drill, where we will practice evacuating the hospital. We were in the ER receiving portion where "victims/patients were sent - many allegedly could have service animals with them." We met with Hospital staff, went over what qualifies as a "service" vs working dog, how to approach, expectations, etc. Very well received - many stated they had been at clinic where there had been service dogs attending in a real life evacuation. Interacted with approx 100 individuals.
