MA VOAD Meeting
Start Date: 2019/11/21Description: This meeting was held in the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency’s headquarters bunker emergency command control center. The meeting was a tabletop exercise covering the full scope of a disaster from early warning of an impending natural event through long term recovery. All participants were able to describe their agency’s role in each of the stages. This was a good opportunity to refresh members’ and MEMA staff of HOPEs roles and capabilities. Before and after the meeting Brinkley visited all his MEMA staff friends, who have known him for seven years. They share the standing joke that he considers them woodchucks, working every day so far underground.
