Description:

This is the semi-annual meeting of the NMAC. The NMAC is a consortium of public and private agencies concerned with environmental event planning and response in Northern Michigan and the Eastern Upper Peninsula. HOPE is a member. There were multiple presentations dealing with the following issues: High frequency radar's use for wave prediction, lake level and coastal changes impacting the Great Lakes, a QR chart application for emergency response management, geographic response strategies, in situ burn test results, and Michigan traffic crash facts.

HOPE's role in the NMAC is that of responding to incident command posts, dispatch centers, and shelters. HOPE had the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of representatives from the agencies in the region.
