Southwest Montana COAD meetings

9:30-10:15...COVID 19 Mass Care Committee meeting (via Zoom)...discussing updates to Sheltering, Food, Child Care, and the Mental Health and Spiritual Care Teams. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, April 14th at 9:30 a.m.

1-2:00 p.m....COVID 19 Communication Committee meeting (via Zoom)...discussing the recent "press release and fact sheet" to local news sources. They were covered well. We then discussed future press releases and how to prioritize their importance as well as how often to submit them. Relevency of the topic seemed to answer the last question. Congratulations to Jess Ulmen, Buffalo Restoration, who is directly responsible for updating the SWMT COAD Facebook page, as well as getting Twitter and Instagram up and running.

3-4:10 p.m......National VOAD Webinar.......I attended this on the off chance that I would pick up something during this update from the presenters and it seemed to be a possible continuing education possibility for our teams. Presenters included: David Burk, from Team Rubicon; Kevin King from Mennoite Disaster Services: Brad Work from the American Red Cross; Patrick Crawfort from Feeding American, and Anthony Pluchino from St. Vincent DePaul.

Lee (Colorado RD) sent it out indicating the webinar's schedule and link to listen in. I took notes and will submit them as documentation....to Gala Goodwin (RMR Co-RD/Montana) for her consideration.
