Southwest Montana COAD mtg.Start Date: 09/18/2019
SW MT COAD meeting (Bozeman) - Wednesday, September, 18, 2019:
The meeting was called to order by Susan Spanjol (SW MT COAD Coordinator) at 1:00 p.m.
Agency Representatives introduced themselves and the organization they represent.
Minutes to the July 17, 2019 were approved.
Discussion on our COAD's response protocol: This topic generated a positive discussion towards creating a flow chart for COAD's response, ie: an Incident Commander in charge of the emergency response within one of our counties will contact COAD leadership to initiate COAD services. The discussion led to defining various areas that COAD agency resources may best fall under....the four areas below represent the type of work/services each agency provides. Further discussion will follow at our November meeting.
emergency worker's child care options
mental/emotional/spiritual (this is the category HOPE AACR fits into)
food and feeding
repairs and fencing
Search and Rescue
Each representative was asked to update the resource matrix chart (what each COAD agency provides in services/resources) and contact information for each organization.
Austin from Civil Air Patrol will help Susan with the necessary updates needed on the chart.
HOPE AACR's contact is Mary Martin at this point.
Susan reminded the attendees that the Vice-President and a Treasurer positions remain open and need to be filled.
Susan also mentioned that 'Heart of the Valley' has PET Planning Kits for disaster preparedness that are free to the public as long as they last. Contact HV if you are interested.
