Summit Therapy Animals Presentation

Start Date: 2021-09-22

Description: Summit County have a number of emergency situations involving Search and Rescue and Avalanche search dogs. The dogs who are working in these circumstances are often approached by distressed families awaiting results of the search. The Summit Therapy Animals group recognized that this is unfair to the working dogs, and are seeking ways to better respond to the needs of their community. They were seeking information about HOPE. Keeper provided a shining example of the difference between SAR, therapy, and HOPE crisis response dogs. There was a good turnout and a good potential to recruit additional HOPE dogs from the area.
