Butler Memorial Hospital

Description: The weekend of November 6th and 7th we had Hope Dog teams attend the Buter Memorial Hospital to be there for the nurses, doctors, and other facility members to relieve stress within the difficult time of the pandemic. When we first got there, we were greeted by Nicole who set this event up. We then placed each dog teams on three different floors in a waiting room. A social worker was also with each therapy dog team as I traveled every 15 minutes floor to floor making sure the teams were doing good as long with the dogs. At first, it was a very slow start because the people were not aware we were there. Each team did great and all the dogs enjoyed the interactions. However, as time went on more and more doctor and nurse came down to visit. Some people were even in tears and so happy that we were there to support them. It was such a great experience and such a great deployment.
