Operation Purple

We were asked to supply Crisis Comfort dogs for Operation Purple Family Retreat weekend at Camp Surf in San Diego. We arrived at 8:30 and met with our point of contact. She asked us to have one dog support the parents during a group exercise and one dog to support the kids during crafts. This lasted until 10 am. After the groups were finished, we were told to roam around the camp and remain visible to the families. We went to the climbing wall, archery range, beach camp and to the kids nursery room. It drizzled most of the morning. Once the drizzle stopped, the families came out and enjoyed mingling with the dogs.
