Sunday night a tragic industrial accident caused a death at Quality
Springs, a factory making auto parts. Monday the factory was closed and
reopened Tuesday. The Branch County Victim Services Unit requested
our services to provide comfort to the employees, a close knit group
that worked together for many years. The deceased was a well liked
supervisor.
The company checked our temperatures and we filled out the Covid-19
questionnaire. Following COVID-19 guidelines, two VSU members and I met with one employee at a time in a large meeting room with plenty of room between participants. Throughout the day, several of the employees returned for a quick snuggle with Maia. It was obvious that the dog's presence was a catalyst to bring employees to our room. It was a pleasure to work with the VSU.
