Tesoro HS Student Suicide

On Tuesday, 12/18/2019, HOPE was called to respond to Tesoro High School reference a 15 year old student who had committed suicide. Jan Heppert and Sequoia & Myself and Henry responded on Wednesday, 12/19/2019 at 0730. We met with the OCDE CRN staff who briefed us on the details. We were stationed in the Library (counseling center) for the duration of the deployment. The day started off very slow until the students found out there were comfort dogs in the counseling center. Once the word got out, our day became busier. Both dogs had some very meaningful interactions with students and staff. Once school was let out for the day, both teams departed.
