Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force-Ring of Silence Presentation

Start Date: 04/13/2022

Description:

The Upper Peninsula Human Trafficking Task Force, along with the Diane Peppler Resource Center of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, presented the movie Ring of Silence. This documentary was produced after interviews with victims/survivors of human trafficking, law enforcement agencies, and other people from the Flint, Michigan area. A very powerful film that brought tears to many eyes and opened the eyes to human trafficking here in Michigan and closer to home in the Upper Peninsula. Following the movie a panel was available for questions along with many resource agencies with tables set up with information and professionals to speak with.
The role of HOPE for this event was to be available for those who may feel the trigger of emotions from the movie. The dogs were well received.

The movie has been shown in the Houghton and Marquette areas, and HOPE teams were asked to attend and found to be helpful for those in attendance.
